Who we are
Planopula is a research project gathering input from Canadians about retirement planning. This website (www.planopula.com) is run on its behalf by the project’s organizers (“we,” “us,” “our”). For any privacy questions, contact us at hello@planopula.com.
Our approach
We collect as little personal information as possible — only what we need to run this research and, if you ask us to, to let you know when our service launches. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing.
What we collect
• Information you give us. If you book a research conversation, ask to be notified at launch, or email us, we collect what you provide — typically your name, email address, and the responses you choose to share.
• We do not collect payment information. Please do not send sensitive details such as account numbers, SINs, or passwords.
• We do not run website analytics or advertising trackers. The site may use only the essential cookies needed for it to function; we do not use cookies to track you across other websites.
Why we collect it
To schedule and conduct research conversations; to administer the participant prize draw (for eligible participants); and — only if you opt in — to email you when our service launches.
Third-party services we use
We rely on trusted third-party tools to operate this research:
• Calendly — to schedule research conversations;
• Google Forms — for the research questionnaire;
• Google Mail – to provide you with a calendar link and reminders
• Cyberimpact — for launch-notification emails (our email list is hosted in Canada).
Each service handles your information under its own privacy terms. Our launch-notification list is stored in Canada; scheduling and questionnaire tools may process information outside Canada (for example, in the United States).
How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as needed for the research, and — where you opted in — for launch updates. We delete it when it is no longer needed.
Your rights (Canada)
You may ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or withdraw your consent, at any time. If you joined the launch-notification list, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails. To make a request, email hello@planopula.com. If you have a privacy concern we cannot resolve, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
How we protect it
We take reasonable administrative and technical steps to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe.
Legal disclosure
We may disclose information where required or permitted by law.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time; the current version is always posted here.
